Our story

The name is a promise

VNC carries the names of Victor and Nett Chatindiara, Dr Mapedzahama’s late parents. Everything offered under this name is offered in their honour, and held to the standard they set: do the work properly, tell the truth, always move through the world adding more than you remove, and always strive to leave every room, every person more energised than when you encountered them.

What we believe

Most organisations do not have a values problem. They have a structures problem. Good people operate inside systems that reproduce inequity regardless of individual intent — and no amount of celebration, awareness-raising, or unconscious-bias training will shift that until you are willing to examine how power actually moves through your organisation.

We name that honestly. We do it without blame, without jargon, and without letting anyone off the hook. Our work is forward-looking: not interested in guilt, very interested in change.

Who we are

VNC is an evidence and equity consultancy specialising in organisational structural auditing, bespoke diagnostic tool design, and validated measurement systems for workplace equity.

We work at the intersection of rigorous social science methodology and applied organisational practice. Our engagements are grounded in Exploratory Sequential Mixed Methods design: this means that we begin with deep qualitative work (centring voice and truth-telling sessions) to explore in depth the structural realities specific to your organisation, then we build bespoke quantitative tools from those findings to measure the barriers your current systems cannot see.

The subject matter we bring with this methodology is the structural inequity produced by, for example, gender, race, class, sexuality, and migration, and how they interact to shape unequal outcomes in Australian workplaces (intersectionality). We have a deep understanding of how certain groups (such as culturally and racially marginalised (CARM) women) experience leadership pathways, how racial and gendered power shapes organisational culture, and how the interaction of multiple systems ofdisadvantage produces outcomes that single-axis analysis consistently misses. We are not a general DEI consultancy. We are a research and methodology-led practice that applies the rigour of the social sciences to the structural realities of organisational life.
